This turned out like a face in a comic book – superhero style. With nice zingy neon colours. Sketched in charcoal, photographed, and coloured on my iPhone.
I’ve done quite a bit of painting and drawing since my last post- but somehow couldn’t find the right thing to add. Which is interesting, as there was once a time when I posted every piece of work, complete or not. Things change.
Atelier classes have started up again – slowly, I’m making progress in learning how to draw and paint classical chiaroscuro. Here’s the latest, funked up on computer because I can’t bear to post an exercise like every other exercise that’s been made down the centuries.
A few further changes, and voila! a bone white, bleached out beach scene.
It’s so great to return to my local Life Drawing Club after the holidays. [It only costs £10, the models are good and nobody tells you what to do - my idea of great]. It was full to capacity, with lots of talented people and it’s a pleasure to catch up with them in the half-time coffee break. This is my charcoal sketch.
