A sketch – work in progress- of someone playing the guitar. First I do a charcoal sketch, which I photograph with my iPhone and email to myself. Then the emailed JPG file is opened up in the painting software programme and….I start painting! I liked the marks on the collar very much (there are hardly any) and that’s why I gave it that title.

Then I reworked it this evening on the computer, adding more intense yellow to denote some kind of sunrise. The (pregnant) model looks exactly as I felt: sleepy. Placing it upright instead of horizontally gives a feeling of dreaming.

This is a pencil sketch which I photographed. I then fed the photo into my computer and painted over it using Pixelmator software. Together with the digitally altered photograph which I’ve posted below, it makes up a digital diptych.
