This is a sketch done with Text Draw app, using the words “Sometimes with Moonlight” in a font called Party Let. And then painted with colour washes over the top with the Brushes app. It came out a bit like a neoclassical head in a vintage 1940′s style. It makes me think of backstage at the theatre or ballet of those times, with the smell of backdrops made of size and thick pancake make-up.

Turn It Up

Last night we saw Corinne Bailey Rae at the Royal Festival Hall. What a great gig! I came back and drew this on the Text Draw app on my iPhone. It’s entirely made of text in different fonts and font sizes and colours and opacity, and the text reads Turn It Up.

Bring It On

I started an iPhone sketch using the words Bring It On. Considering the nature of that in-your-face phrase, it’s quite funny that this face is so gentle looking.

Water Falls

this is done on my iPhone using the Text app with the words Water Falls, and then transferred to the Brushes app and painted over. I’m not sure what it all means right at this moment. Tonight I’m going to Hamlet at the theatre, maybe something will become clear when I’m watching it.

Face of a Boy

My husband was cooking vegetable curry, from a recipe by Madhur Jaffrey. We both worked with her in India a while back.

I sat at the kitchen table and as he was cooking I made this doodle on my iPhone.

(First using the Text Draw App, painting with the words Rocks and Lichens – and then the Brushes App).

The curry turned out really wonderful – and I’m happy with the sketch too.
